Yes. Tap Let’s run from Today. After the three-second countdown, RunLoop records distance, time, pace, elevation, GPS path, splits, calorie estimate, and step estimate. Distance is calculated from accepted GPS positions, not arm swing or pedometer motion, so a phone mounted on a stroller can still record movement.

Yes. The Route Builder accepts an address, park, landmark, or trailhead. Start Here and Find Nearby both use the selected address or GPS point.

Trail Explorer uses public OpenStreetMap/Overpass data and can incorporate configured official sources such as National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, and state/local GIS trail layers. Always verify signs, access, closures, ownership, permitted uses, and current conditions.

Open Profile and use Navigation Voice to preview the installed offline voices. Voice availability varies by device. Some announcements may fall back to a system voice, even when a recorded voice is selected. If playback differs from your selection, include your app version and the affected cue when contacting support.

On a supported iPhone Community Test build, start a queue in Apple Music, open the music card during Quick Run or navigation, and tap Enable Apple Music. After granting permission, RunLoop can play or pause, move to the previous or next track, and stop playback. Android runners should continue using their preferred music app directly.

If a Quick Run is still active or paused, RunLoop restores its current time, GPS distance, and route when the screen or app is reopened. During an active run, the GPS status indicator shows whether the device is acquiring, ready, or receiving weaker location data.

Yes. Quick Run and navigation can announce completed miles and average pace using the navigation voice saved in Profile. On iPhone, spoken audio requires audible device volume and may be affected by Silent Mode or audio-session behavior.

Your detailed fitness profile and local run history remain on the device and do not require an account. If you create an optional Community account, RunLoop syncs only the separate Community profile fields and runs or routes you choose.

In the app or Community website, open Profile and choose Delete account permanently. You can also use the public account deletion page. After you confirm, the Community account and synced data are deleted immediately; local run history stored only on your phone is not deleted.

Calories use saved body weight and recorded mileage. Steps use saved height to estimate stride length and recorded distance. Both remain estimates, not medical measurements.

RunLoop requests a weather snapshot for the finishing GPS location and saves it with the completed run. If the provider or connection is temporarily unavailable, use Retry Conditions on the post-run screen. A saved run with missing conditions can be reopened later to try again.

Yes. When a primary shoe is saved, completed routed runs and Quick Runs add recorded mileage to that shoe.

RunLoop is designed to continue active-run location tracking while the screen is locked or the app is backgrounded when the required permissions are granted. Exact behavior can vary by Android/iOS version, battery settings, and operating-system restrictions.
