How can we help?

Answers for route generation, Quick Run, profiles, voices, trails, and local data.

Can I run without generating a route?

Yes. Tap Start Quick Run from Home to begin foreground GPS tracking immediately. It records distance, time, pace, elevation, GPS path, splits, calorie estimate, and step estimate.

Can I type an address instead of using my location?

Yes. The Route Builder accepts an address, park, landmark, or trailhead. Start Here and Find Nearby both use the selected address or GPS point.

Where does Trail Explorer get trail information?

Trail Explorer uses public OpenStreetMap data through Overpass for paths, footways, tracks, routes, parks, reserves, and related tags. Optional National Park Service data adds official park information. Always verify signs, access, closures, ownership, permitted uses, and current conditions.

How do I get a more natural navigation voice?

Open More → Voice Navigation to preview installed voices. On Android, update Speech Services by Google and download high-quality voices in system text-to-speech settings for more options.

Where is my profile stored?

The current profile is stored locally on the device. No login is required. Profile data personalizes route defaults and estimates.

How are calories and steps calculated?

Calories use saved body weight and recorded mileage. Steps use saved height to estimate stride length and recorded distance. Both remain estimates, not medical measurements.

Does shoe mileage update automatically?

Yes. When a primary shoe is saved, completed routed runs and Quick Runs add recorded mileage to that shoe.

Will tracking continue with the screen locked?

Not in the current initial release. Tracking is designed for foreground use while RunLoop is open. Background tracking is planned as a later update with additional permission and policy testing.
